This past week has been pretty fun. I was able to visit Villa Rica, and some other places just outside of Asuncion.
On the way to Villa Rica, I was able to visit an old fransican church. The church, built in 1587 is insanely beautiful. There is word that there is a tunnel in this church that leads to heaven. A while back, some Americans from America came to check it out, but died in the process (possibly of lack of oxygen) of investigating the tunnel.
We also saw the old train station. A long time ago, there were trains in South America, but now there aren't any.
We also drove by some pretty awesome hills and took lots of pictures!
Around Asuncion, I visited jewelery shops and ceramics shops. Everything was incredibly cheap and super pretty!
Today, my family and I just got back from the airport. My little brother is going to Connecticuit for a month. Lots of extended family members came to wish him farewell. We had an asado for him last weekend where all of the family came, ate, and sang songs in English, Spanish, and Guarani. Among the English repitoire was the Beatles, and Oh Susana...
Anyway, either this evening, or in the morning, my family and I are going to go to Ciudad del Este and Encarnacion to see even more Paragauy. I'm so excited!
iChau!
